Montreal’s Luxury Home Market Is Thriving
High-end home sales in Montreal are soaring. In the six months between January and June, 990 homes priced over C$1 million (US$799,060) sold in the Canadian city, doubling from the first half of 2020, according to Sotheby’s International Realty Canada. The number of deals between C$2 million and C$4 million jumped 138%, and the number of sales over C$4 million jumped 133% in the same time. Meanwhile, 30% of the homes sold for over C$1 million did so for more than listing price, something that’s “unheard of” in the Montreal market, according to Don Kottick, CEO and president of Sotheby’s International Realty Canada.
