Toronto Police have upgraded the charge against Hassan Ali — better known as Toronto rapper Top 5 — from accessory after the fact to first-degree murder.
The charge is in relation to the shooting death of Hashim Omar Hashi, 30, who was gunned down outside the Falstaff Towers housing complex in the area of Jane St. and Falstaff Ave. in January.
Ali, 22, who is also wanted on three counts of fail to comply with a recognizance order, is on the loose and is considered armed and dangerous.
Emergency crews were notified on Jan. 31 around 9 p.m. of shots fired outside 40 Falstaff Ave., near Jane St. and Hwy. 401.
Police reported responding officers found the victim, Hashi, was shot multiple times while driving his car into the building’s underground parking lot.

Hashi, whom police say had no criminal history, was found dead behind the wheel of his car, which came to rest against the closed parking garage door.
